According to media reports, the offensive is continuing successfully.

"Together with the military we took the Bazo height, another height and militants in 1070 [Housing Project] will be fully encircled," a military men stressed.

Syrian troops plan to take the neighboring Hikma height and cut off supply routes to militants in the 1070 neighborhood in southwestern Aleppo as part of the offensive.

The Syrian army its allies' units launched on Sunday a massive offensive on positions of terrorists in southern Aleppo after having seized strategic heights with an air defense base and a cell phone tower.

A military source said Monday that heavy losses were inflicted upon terrorists, most of whom belong to al-Nusra terrorist organization.

The importance of establishing control over Bazo height, which comes a day after establishing control over the Air Defense Battalion, lies in ending the presence of terrorists of the so-called "al-Fateh army" who infiltrated earlier into some buildings of 1070 Apartments Project overlooking al-Hekma School.
