DAILY SCOPE: Refugees in the French Inferno... What will it cost Obama to sign JASTA?

Al-Akhbar newspaper's edition for Friday, September 16, 2016 shed light on the following:

The "Jungles of Calais" Refugees in the French Inferno

The French government is pressuring Britain regarding the refugees of Calais refugee camp. Al-Akhbar noted that it is the same scenario used by Turkey to pressure the European Union [EU] concerning the Syrian refugee influx.

With this sort of blackmail, France has been gaining a lot. Lately, it has received 2.7 million euros from the British government in order to build a 1 kilometer high fence between the camp and the international route.

Al-Akhbar quoted Ismail, a young Iraqi residing in the camp since a year, as saying: "Every day, I try to cross into Britain, but I haven't been successful yet. Our situation is tragic. We do not want to apply for asylum in France since its government does nothing for the refugees. We deal with Kurd smugglers; so does France. It relies on some Kurds [whom it offers some privileges] mainly as a smuggling by which it blackmails Britain."

"Many people are taking advantage of our tragedy: the Afghans living in Britain and France have opened restaurants, shops, cafes and even nightclubs. Their trades bring them fortune. They sell everything including hashish and human trafficking," he added.

Human trafficking is the most profitable trade in the Calais. The smuggling of an individual from France to Britani might cost up to 10 thousand euros for a distance of no more than fifty kilometers.

The camp is where the French get hashish and drugs as well as "sexual services", but the Takfiris attack any place that facilitates "prostitution" in the proximity of their tents or their place of worship.

As for an-Nahar's Friday edition, it discussed US President Barack Obama and the JASTA:

On the Scale Balance... What will it cost Obama to sign Saudi Arabia's prosecution law?

The White House, on Monday, made it clear that President Barack Obama would veto the "Justice against Sponsors of Terrorism Act" [JASTA] which the Congress approved on Friday. The law will allow families of September 11 attack victims to sue states, particularly Saudi Arabia in the event its involvement in these attacks has been proved.

JASTA which is sponsored by Senators John Cornyn [R-TX] and Chuck Schumer [D-NY] was originally established to weather a series of provisions that has practically blocked all means taken by the relatives of the attack victims to sue the Saudi government and officials as well as several other private entities in their supposed role in financing al-Qaeda operations before the September 11 attacks.

JASTA is unanimous supported by the House of Representatives and the Senate which passed the law.

However, according to an-Nahar newspaper, even if Obama vetoed the law, it does not mean that JASTA won't see the light of day, since the Congress might override the presidential veto and pass the law once it is passed again by the House and the Senate by two-thirds majority of votes. This is not unlikely to happen in light of Republican dominance over the two chambers.

If this was the case and the presidential veto has been overridden by a majority of two-thirds of the Congress, Obama would face a major setback in the last months of his presidency as the ten vetoes he used during his previous presidential terms had never been overruled before.

Last but not least, here's what as-Safir found intriguing regarding Zahle's Kasara bombing:

Ksara Cell: Targeting Security Convoys and Breaching the Army

The Ksara cell revealed a lot of what was hidden, as-Safir newspaper said. It went on to say that although the bombing that rocked Zahle's Ksara area did not achieve its goal in targeting those on their way from the Bekaa to Tyre to participate in the commemoration of the absence of Imam Musa al-Sadr.

However, investigations into the bombing lead to the dismantling of a dangerous chain cell revealing the professionalism of Daesh [Arabic acronym for "ISIS" / "ISIL"] and its sleeper cells and its use of the "Israeli" entity's "dead mail".

According to as-Safir, the General Directorate of the General Security arrested the bomber in no time leading to the dismantling of the cell whose records reveal its responsibility for a number of bombings.

The newspaper also pointed that for the first time in a very long time, the General Security, on Thursday, after the completion of the Ksara Cell investigations, deliberately publicized in a detailed statement the roles of the cell members.

This appeared to be a sort of response to the political campaign the General Security has been facing since the judge's decision to dismantle the cell and arrest one of the suspects who happened to be a clergy man in the Rashaya district.

Accordingly, the General Security will release a second statement on Friday regarding the Ksara Cell.
