Lebanese newspapers on Tuesday discussed the leaked information on plots prepared by extremist groups in Ain al-Helweh Palestinian camp. Sources said the groups were preparing to carry out terrorist acts, and noted that the Lebanese army was able to foil the plots.

Also, the papers discussed the Arab summit that was held in Nouakchott in addition to the latest developments in Syria and the region.

AN-NAHAR: Army on High Alert on Terrorist Groups in Palestinian Camp

Military sources told An-Nahar newspaper that the Lebanese army is at the highest levels of alert and readiness to confront any terrorist attacks and to prevent instability in the country, stressing that "at the time the Lebanese army stays alert at the borders, it is also keeping an eye on Ain al-Helweh Palestinian refugee camp to monitor any attempts of carrying out terrorist attacks by Daesh [Arabic acronym for "ISIS" / "ISIL"] or al-Nusra front groups."

According to the sources, the two terrorist groups have been preparing the ground for attacks and have been sending messages to their supporters inside and outside the Palestinian camp, through which it tried to intimidate young men wanted by the Lebanese authorities from handing in themselves to the army. On a related note, the sources pointed out that coordination between the army and the Lebanese general security has increased, and that the Army and Palestinian factions have upped their cooperation as well.

AL-BINAA: Salam Calls to Create Accommodation Zones Inside Syria for the Displaced

Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam suggested the formation of an Arab committee to crystalize the notion of creating "accommodation zones inside the Syrian territories" for the displaced Syrian people during the Arab summit on Monday, said al-Binaa newspaper.

The daily pointed out that Salam stressed that "tending care to Syrian refugees in their lands is less costly to neighboring countries and donor sides," reiterating the temporary nature of the Syrian refugees' presence in Lebanon because Lebanon is not a 'permanent asylum' country but rather a final nation solely to its sons.

On a related note, parliamentarian sources told al-Binaa newspaper that "there are no political reasons to why the Lebanese Finance Minister did not join the Lebanese delegation to the Arab Summit, except for the fact that the Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri had asked him to stay in Lebanon and follow up on some files."

"We call for the establishment of an Arab fund to reinforce the resilience of host communities, and improve the conditions of the temporary accommodation of displaced people," Salam noted.

The 27th Arab summit was held in Nouakchott under the chairmanship of Mauritanian President Mohammed Weld Abdel Aziz.

AL-AKHBAR: "Summit of Hope" Exposes Crises, Tool in Hands of Saudis

Egyptian diplomatic sources told al-Akhbar newspaper on Tuesday that "there are several factors that led to the conclusion of the Arab Summit without serious decisions, among which the dispute on a few projects including the Arab Joint Force."

The newspaper said that the "first conclusion drawn from the Arab Summit convened in Mauritania is the fact that Morocco refused to host the summit because it does not have "objective circumstances" to make it successful."

Opposite to the name "Summit of Hope", which was the title of the 27th summit held on Monday in Mauritania, al-Akhbar newspaper said that the summit in fact exposed the "Arab impasse" and the crises the current Arab League is witnessing especially after it was turned into a diplomatic tool in the hands of Riyadh and Gulf countries that enjoy political and financial influence.

In terms of Lebanon and the Saudi meddling through such non-governmental bodies, Saudi Arabia had led the League, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in issuing resolutions labeling Hizbullah as a "terrorist" party.

Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam assured on Monday that the Lebanese delegation will deal with labeling Hizbullah as "a terrorist group" just like it did in the past, reiterating "We have a clear stance, Hizbullah is a Lebanese party and a major component in the political structure of Lebanon, and we are keen on fortifying the internal front of Lebanon and on Lebanon's steadfastness in face of the current difficult situation."
