The White House warned "Israel" was in danger of distancing itself from "even its closest allies" following a new Zionist settlement grab on Wednesday.

White House Warns ’Israel’ over Settlement Grab The sharp criticism came shortly after US President Barack Obama and "Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at the White House on Wednesday.

As Netanyahu arrived at the White House, the al-Quds municipality made the announcement it was moving forward with construction of 2,610 homes in Givat Hamatos.
The two leaders did not mention the new construction project during their remarks to reporters.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the 2,600-unit project announced by the occupied al-Quds municipality would only draw "condemnation" from the international community.

In remarks to reporters prior to the meeting, Obama and Netanyahu pressed each other to address areas of tension in their relationship, with the US president calling for an end to Palestinian civilian martydom and the "Israeli" leader warning of the consequences of leaving Iran with nuclear capabilities.

The meeting marked the first time Obama and Netanyahu have met since "Israel's" recent aggression on seized Gaza which martyred more than 2,100 Palestinians - the vast majority of them civilians. The civilian martydom in seized Gaza deeply angered US officials, prompting more biting public condemnations of "Israel's" actions than are typical from the Obama administration.

Moreover, much of Obama and Netanyahu's meeting was expected to focus on the US-led nuclear negotiations with Iran. The US and its negotiating partners - Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China - have until Nov. 24 to reach a deal with Iran.

Obama and Netanyahu were also expected to discuss the US-led campaign against so-called "Daesh" [ISIL] militants in Iraq and Syria, an effort the "Israeli" leader said he "fully supports".
