Two "Israeli" Navy rubber boats tipped over during a training exercise near the Haifa shore on Sunday, and three "Israeli" soldiers who fell off the boats into the water were evacuated for medical treatment.
The "Israel" War Forces confirmed the accident details, reporting that there were no additional soldiers injured in the accident.
Residents in the area later reported aircraft traffic over the accident spot.
Additionally, the Zionist Maarivr said that the "Israeli" Navy "almost lived a real disaster" after the two boats tipped over during the training exercise.
In January also, an "Israeli" Navy Tzir'ah class patrol boat tipped over one and a half kilometers from the Ashdod seashore. Reports suggested that a technical problem was what caused the boat, which is supposed to be steady, to tip over.
"Israel" War Forces officials said that the boat was small and very fast, and that it had an anti-tipping mechanism. The Tzir'ah boat should steady itself immediately after tipping over, however it didn't in this case, and the soldiers were in need of evacuation.
"Israel" War Forces spokesperson responded at the time saying that, "In the course of the Navy's standard activity near [the seized] Gaza Strip, a small Tzir'ah model sea craft tipped over...The accident circumstances are being examined."
