The Obama administration has strongly defended the US secretary of state's commitment to "Israel" after its media accused him of "capitulating" to Hamas. The Zionist media stated that ""Israel" has no better friend, no stronger defender" than John Kerry.

US Administration: “Israel” Has ‘No Better Friend, No Stronger Defender’ than Kerry

US officials made the remarks on Monday after scornful criticism in "Israel" of Kerry's unsuccessful effort to secure a ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Hamas.
"Israel" has killed more than 1,050 Palestinians have been killed and thousands wounded, including women and children.
The United Nations says over 80 percent of the fatalities in Gaza have been civilians.

In retaliation, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades of the Palestinian resistance have been launching rockets against "Israel".
Anonymous "Israeli" sources have accused the US secretary of state of surrendering to Hamas's demands during the ceasefire negotiations, reported media sources.

"What was leaked, unfortunately, I think was misinformed, or an effort to misinform," White House Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken said about the reported truce terms in an attempt to justify the stand.
White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice said, "I must tell you: we've been dismayed by some press reports in "Israel" mischaracterizing his efforts last week to achieve a ceasefire."

"The reality is that John Kerry on behalf of the United States has been working every step of the way with Israel," she added.
"It's simply not the way partners and allies treat each other," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said criticizing.

Her comments were echoed by the White House, where officials said they were disappointed by "Israeli" reports that cast Kerry's efforts to negotiate a cease-fire as more favorable to Hamas.

She noted that the administration was "surprised and obviously disappointed" to see the ceasefire draft proposal made public.

Psaki said that "those who want to support a ceasefire should focus on efforts to put it in place and not on efforts to criticize or attack one of the very people who are playing a prominent role in getting it done."

Kerry himself, in a speech to the Center for American Progress, said, "Make no mistake, when the people of Israel are rushing to bomb shelters, when innocent Israeli and Palestinian teenagers are abducted and murdered, when hundreds of innocent civilians have lost their lives, I will and we will make no apologies for our engagement."

More than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed over the past three weeks, Palestinian health officials say. According to the United Nations, about three-fourths of them were civilians, including women and children.
