Senior Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said on Monday that the besieged Gaza Strip will become "a graveyard for "Israeli" soldiers," with Hamas saying that the death toll of "Israeli" troops has surpassed 40.

The Zionist regime has launched the ongoing war on Gazans because it has failed to force them to abandon their struggle, Haniyeh stated.

He said the massacres committed by "Israel" show its" true nature and prove that "Israel" is grappling with problems of its own."

Adding to that, he said that the Zionist regime is targeting civilians because it is not capable of breaking the equations established by the resistance fighters on the battlefield.

Haniyeh also criticized the international community's silence on the ongoing "Israeli" crimes against Palestinians.

He said that Gazans are facing an aggressive war by "Israel." 

Haniyeh, however, stressed that "the resistance will continue."

Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance fighters have killed over 40 "Israeli" soldiers since Tel Aviv started its offensive on the besieged Gaza Strip, Hamas said. 

Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, said its forces killed 15 more "Israeli" forces in eastern seized Gaza City on Monday alone.

Two "Israeli" soldiers were killed on Monday afternoon in battles with Hamas in seized Gaza, the "Israeli" War Forces said overnight, bringing the death toll of military personnel to 27 since "Israel" launched a ground incursion last Thursday.

The "Israeli" War Forces said one of the soldiers was Sgt. First Class Oded Ben-Sira, 22, from Nir Etzion in northern occupied Palestine who served in the Nahal Brigade.

The name of the second soldier has yet to be released.

Three soldiers were seriously wounded overnight, while four sustained light injuries in battles with Hamas, the "Israeli" War Forces said.

The Palestinian fighters also targeted an "Israeli" Merkava-4 tank in the east of Gaza City on the same day.

Hamas also fired dozens of retaliatory rockets into "Israel." 

Warning sirens have sounded in Tel Aviv, Yavne, Gadara, Ashkelon, Ashdod, and many other places.
