US Accuses ’Israel’ of Failing to Do More to Protect Gaza Civilians

The Obama administration accused "Israel" on Thursday of failing to do all it can to prevent civilian casualties in seized Gaza, after four children were massacred by "Israeli" shelling while playing soccer on a beach.

Noting the martyrdom of four young boys who were massacred by an "Israeli" strike on a Gaza beach a day earlier, the US State Department said "We have been heart-broken by the high civilian death [martyr] toll in Gaza."

Yet, three more children were martyred in seized Gaza on Thursday.

Of the Gaza beach attacks that martyred four cousins on Wednesday, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki called the attack "horrifying."

"The tragic event makes clear that "Israel" must take every possible step to meet its standards for protecting civilians from being killed," Psaki said. "We will continue to underscore that point to "Israel.""

Asked if the US believes "Israel" has not done enough to prevent civilian casualties, Psaki said: "We believe that certainly there's more that can be done."

Moreover, US Secretary of State John Kerry underscored in a telephone call with Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday that "there's more that can be done" by "Israel" to avoid civilian casualties and that it must redouble its efforts, Psaki said.

She spoke just hours before an official statement from Netanyahu's office instructed the Zionist military to begin a ground invasion on seized Gaza.
