Kenya Issues Travel Warning Against Britain’s Heathrow Airport

Kenya's government has urged its citizens not to visit Britain's Heathrow Airport, following the British Foreign Office's warning against traveling to large parts of Kenya, The Times reported on Monday.
The principal secretary of Kenya's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Karanja Kibicho said Britain was the most probable target for al-Qaeda-inspired terrorists.
A statement released by Kibicho advised: "According to information provided by US officials, al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen and Syria were developing sophisticated bombs that could bring down a plane."
"The information states that Britain would be the most likely country to be affected," it said.
"Kenyans are advised not to travel through London Heathrow where there is substantial threat of a possible attack," the statement added.
The Foreign Office renewed its travel advice on Saturday to comprise the Lamu archipelago, Lamu county and parts of Tana River county, where it advises "against all but essential travel."
