French President Francois Hollande has announced on Thursday that more than 30 French militants were killed in Syria war.

Hollande: 30 French Nationals Killed in SyriaDuring his speech at the G7 summit in Brussel, Hollande said that Paris is trying to prevent French nationals from participating in Syria war.

"We have decided on cooperation to prevent, deter and punish this type of movement, which can jeopardize our own security," he stated.

Meanwhile, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said on Tuesday that over 800 French nationals are fighting in Syria along militants or planning to do so.

He warned that militants pose the most serious security threat when they return home.

The warning followed the recent arrest of a French national suspected of killing three "Israelis" at a museum in Brussels after spending a year fighting in Syria.
G7 leaders agreed Wednesday to increase efforts to address the threat posed by foreign fighters who go to Syria.

A British diplomatic revealed that the discussions were intended to "review the resources and expertise" of states, and consider what can be done in terms of "cooperation with the countries" bordering Syria.
