Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah appeared via video-link from the Southern village of Bint Jbeil, commemorating the day of Resistance and Liberation.
During the festival held under the slogan "A nation with an ID of Resistance", Sayyed Nasrallah asserted the "deep and historical meanings and dimensions of this victory."
"We hail and laud the great sacrifices that were offered by our people, security forces, national army and Arab and Palestinian factions. We stress that this achievement was the product of these major sacrifices."
He stressed that the May 25 victory paved the way for an era of victories, also a victory that required great sacrifices that have to be glorified.
"The victory cannot be attributed to a single party, faction or region, or even a country, as it belongs to the entire nation, which is engaged in a war with the Zionist scheme. We have always strived to give this Day this broad dimension," he assured.
Sayyed Nasrallah reminded of what took place on 25 May 2000. At the time, thousands of Lebanese people along with the armed fighters entered the occupied South as "Israel" and its agents were retreating.
"Hizbullah presented a real Islamic sample of tolerance when its fighters reached the Lebanese liberated territories in 2000, and all sanctities, people, land, properties and dignities were preserved" stressing that "there exists an attempt to link Islam to arbitrary murder, execution, digging up graves and other atrocities."
Also, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Lebanon must possess the power of deterring the "Israeli" enemy to protect its territories, resources and sovereignty.
"We stress the importance of the deterrence policy against the enemy, which means Lebanon's possession of a strength that can deter the enemy. Only strength can protect Lebanon's land, people, institutions, state, resources, water, oil, gas, entity, existence, future, dignity and sovereignty."
"We assure our commitment to the golden army-people-resistance equation, and intensify its military abilities to face the enemy. Lebanon has also to tackle all the causes related to the Lebanese-"Israeli" conflict including Shebaa Farms, Kfar shuba Hills and the captives."
Sayyed Nasrallah went on to say "We want to strengthen the culture of having hope in the future and confidence in victory and in our ability to confront the fiercest occupation armies ... This confidence is what led us into the era of victories, starting from the year 2000 to "Israel's" defeat in Gaza in September 2005, all the way to the 2006 defeat and the 2008 steadfastness of Gaza, until the 2012 confrontation."
Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that the Zionist army has escalated its violations and aggressions at the Lebanese-Palestinian borders, and the Lebanese army and the UNIFIL troops have to encounter these violations. He also accentuated that Hizbullah will face any "Israeli" violation at the Lebanese-Palestinian borders if it reaches an unacceptable level.
Addressing the Lebanese citizens in the bordering village, Sayyed Nasrallah said "the Zionist leadership and the settlers are also afraid of your daily life activities at the borders, unlike the past. Keep your daily life activities and do not be afraid by the Zionist army which is unable to harm you."
On the Syrian issue, Sayyed Nasrallah assured that Syria was -and still is- steadfast in face of the crisis, haling Syria as it has always protected the resistance groups in the region against the "Israeli" aggressions.
"What has happened in Syria since a year proves the propriety of Hizbullah stances towards the Syrian crisis. Why do not we have the right to defend our strengths, while the Zionist settlers come from all over the world to defend their myths?!" Sayyed Nasrallah wondered.
According to Sayyed Nasrallah, there is a plot to divide the region into a number of states, and the "Israelis" wanted to establish a state in any country in the world, yet the British preferred Palestine in order to destroy the region.
He declared that the militant groups in Syria were supported in order to destroy Syria and the axis of resistance, yet Syria has encountered the militant groups whose real nature was exposed. He elaborated that the Syrian government has attained great military and political achievements.
Sayyed Nasrallah further added that "Some countries sent the terrorists to Syria in order to get rid of them, yet they found that the terrorists failed and started to back to their initial battlefields."
Sayyed Nasrallah also noted "it has become clear that those who were brought in to threaten Syria are now threatening all nations. Now, some of those fighters are going back to Europe. Also, the "Israeli" role has become clear in the Syrian war. Syrian army posts are being bombed by "Israel" for the benefit of the armed groups."
The Resistance leader went on to say that many countries, including those who support the terrorist groups will reach a point when they will congratulate and thank Syria for its victory. He added that also the Lebanese, who rejected Hizbullah's military intervention Syria, will also reach a situation in which they thank the party for the intervention.
As for the presidential elections, Sayyed Nasrallah noted that March 14 wanted to extend the presidential term of President Michel Suleiman, rather than elect a new president.
"Hizbullah does not require a president who protects the resistance because the party protects the whole country. It rather requires a president who does not conspire against the resistance."
More on the domestic level, Sayyed Nasrallah said "We hope that the issues of the ranks and salaries system and the Lebanese University not be linked to political issues, and we hope they will be addressed soon."
Sayyed Nasrallah concluded "We must all be confident in our power and capability of confronting challenges. We do not fear Israel due to our "golden equation" of the unity of the army, people, and resistance. The antagonistic project in the region will be defeated, and Hizbullah will adhere to the path resistance in order to remain victorious."
