Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said Malaysia will release a preliminary report on the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines plane on Thursday that went missing more than seven weeks ago [March 8], as state news agency Bernama quoted him as saying on Wednesday.

Malaysia to Release Report on Missing Beoing 777 JetHussein said on Wednesday that the report would be made public on Thursday and that it will be similar to the one the government sent to the International Civil Aviation Organization [ICAO].

"I don't think there's going to be any problem to issue it. But we have decided it as a team, that it's going to be issued tomorrow [Thursday]," state news agency Bernama quoted him as saying.

Hishammuddin said he will go to Australia next week to discuss the next phase of the search, a greatly expanded underwater hunt, and the cost involved.

The Malaysia Airlines flight vanished on March 8 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Search operations have been ongoing in search for the plane, which is believed to have crashed in the southern Indian Ocean but not yet proven.
