British intelligence chiefs warned Prime Minister David Cameron that it was a fallacy to bring troops into Ukraine as it could provoke an enormous escalation of the conflict, as the Daily Mirror newspaper wrote on Tuesday.

British Intelligence Advises Cameron Not to Send Troops to Ukraine"Spy chiefs have warned that any British or Western military action in Ukraine risks spiraling into an all-out war with Russia," the Daily Mirror wrote.

Moreover, MI-6 and British military intelligence employees, who were monitoring the situation in Ukraine, warned that escalation of the crisis could lead to a civil war.

According to British intelligence, in this case, part of the Eastern Ukraine could declare independence and join Russia.

Daily Mirror emphasized that a group of unarmed British spies have been secretly working in the territory of Ukraine, monitoring border crossing points and towns, which citizens adhere to pro-Russian sentiments.

This was done in order to "clarify Putin's intentions," the article reads.
