Iran Complying with Nuclear Deal: IAEA
Local Editor
Iran is complying with the terms of last year's interim nuclear agreement with the P5+1 countries, a monthly update from the U.N. atomic agency obtained by Reuters showed on Thursday.
Iran has curbed some parts of its nuclear program in exchange for a limited easing of sanctions as per earlier agreement, under the landmark accord that took effect on January 20, the monthly updates added.
The IAEA update showed that Iran had - as stipulated by the November 24 agreement with the United States, France, Germany, Britain, China and Russia - diluted half of its higher-grade enriched uranium stockpile to a less proliferation-sensitive fissile concentration.
The accord was designed to reach an opportunity for talks on a comprehensive deal of Iran Iran's nuclear program and to loosen the sanctions imposed on Iran.
The next meeting is due to take place on May 13 in Vienna.
