UK: Detention of Greenwald’s Partner Legally Sound

British authorities rendered on Tuesday the use of anti-terrorism powers to detain David Miranda, the partner of Glenn Greenwald who publishes documents of former NSA contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden, was "legally and procedurally sound".
"No complaint has been received by the MPS at this time," a statement from the Metropolitan Police Service read.
Brazilian authorities for its part demanded explanations for the reason why anti-terrorism powers were used on the Brazilian citizen that was interrogated for nine hours in London's Heathrow Airport then released without charge.
Also, The British Guardian daily that had published the articles by Greenwald, expressed its dismay Miranda's detention.
