President al-Assad: We Strike Terror with Iron Fist

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad brushed off attempts to deal with terrorism by politics and said that an "iron fist" is the only way to end the foreign-backed Syrian crisis.
In a speech he delivered on the Syrian State Television on Sunday, President al-Assad reiterated that no solution can be reached with terror except by "striking it with an iron fist."
Moreover, he added that he does not "think that any sane human being would think that terrorism can be dealt with via politics."
"Terror must be struck in order to get the political process moving on the right track," President Bashar reiterated.
Nonetheless, the President considered that there is no reason why he shouldn't strike terror while working politically.
"There is only one kind of war that is bigger than guerrilla warfare, and that is a people's war, one that is fought by the army alongside the citizens," the Syrian President argued.
"The hand of God is with those who stand together," he stressed.
According to the United Nations, more than 100,000 people have been killed and millions of others displaced due to the Syrian crisis.
