Supporters of Egypt's ousted President Mohammad Mursi continued protests in the capital Cairo despite the army's deadline to end the sit-ins.

On this note, Egypt's National Defense Council had warned on Sunday about the countdown of the army's 48-hour deadline.

On Friday, Egypt's state TV announced that within the following 48 hours, security forces would impose a blockade on the two main protest sites of the capital where demonstrators have camped out, permitting people to leave but not to enter.

Protests, that started over a month ago after the Egyptian Army ousted Mursi, demand Mursi be reinstated, after the head of the Egyptian armed forces General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi declared Mursi as longer being the president anymore on July 3.

Dozens of people, both supporters and opposition of the ousted president, were killed during the violence after the coup.
