Iranian President-Elect Sheikh Hassan Rouhani asserted that the resistant Syrian people are capable of overcoming the current stage and preserve their independence and territorial integrity.


Rouhani Sends Two Letters to Sayyed Nasrallah, Al-Assad: Syrian People to Overcome CrisisIn a letter responding to the congratulatory letter sent to him by President Bashar al-Assad upon his election as President of Iran, Rouhnai said that the deep-rooted relations between the two countries show their people's commitment to cooperation in various political and economic fields and in confronting the plots hatched by the enemies of the region's people particularly the Zionist regime.

In parallel, he expressed confidence that the great and resistant people of Syria will leave behind the ongoing situation and succeed in preserving their independence and territorial integrity through the efforts of those who call for peace.
The elected President also wrote to the Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, saying Iran backs the "steadfast nation" of Lebanon and the Palestinians.

In response to a separate letter of congratulation Sayyed Nasrallah, Rouhani pointed to the heroic victories of Hizbullah's Mujahideen in the field of resistance.
He further affirmed the continued support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the resistance of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples.

"The stunning political enthusiasm on the 14th of June 14 was an appropriate response to the directives of Ayatollah Imam Khamenei as well as a result of the efforts of the great Iranian people which showed its resistance and solidarity on various political levels."

The president-elect said that the great Iranian people, through its extraordinary will, will move forward to reach the peaks of glory and grandeur.
