Fourteen people were killed and 26 others injured in the explosion of two explosive devices planted by terrorists in al-Marjeh square in Damascus on Tuesday.


Two Suicide Bombs Rock Central Damascus Police Command source told SANA reporter that the two devices were placed in bags in front of the commercial shops in al-Marjeh square.

The source added that the injured were admitted to the hospital as the explosion caused material damage at the site.

The channel screened images showing badly damaged vehicles and bloodied pavements.
"It seems the terrorists have struck again," said a television presenter.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported the blasts, but said they were caused by explosive devices planted in the neighborhood.

"Several people were wounded by two explosive device blasts in Marjeh square in Damascus," said the Britain-based Observatory, which relies on a  network of activists, doctors and lawyers for its reports.
