People took to the streets on Friday in the Yemeni capitol Sana'a to protest US drones raids, which led to the death of hundreds of innocent civilians and a few members of armed men.

Activists, just days ago, addressed a letter to the US President Barack Obama describing the raids as "terrorist" raids by Washington in Yemen.
Ten of thousands of protestors demonstrated in Sana'a to slam the drone attacks and express their rejection of any US intervention under the pretext of "war on terrorism."

This coincides with Obama's speech in which he defended his use of drones.
Obama issued a decree on Friday that allows the use of drones outside the borders of the United States, drawing by that the ire of Amnesty International.
He adamantly defended the controversial strikes as legal and necessary to what he called US national security, adding that this decree will enable the United States to "carry out effective operations against the terrorists." In Friday's speech at the National Defense University in Washington, US President stressed "that he is determined to continue the war against al-Qaeda to eliminate it."

Drone strikes have become a signature counterterrorism tool used by the Obama administration and his predecessor, President George W. Bush, and have been attributed with killing roughly 5,000 persons abroad, according to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina). But under the covert and protective umbrella of the Central Intelligence Agency, little has been formally acknowledged from Washington as to the details of these strikes.
