The following are the Islamic-Resistance operations that took place during the month of May in 1996...

Islamic Resistance Performs Twenty-One Operations in May, 1996

Though an international group was supposed to supervise the fulfillment of "the April Agreement (1996)", the Zionists perpetrated more aggressions in May.
In fact, Lebanon in general and the Resistance in particular faced new challenging situations resulting from the aggression.

On top of these challenges were:
1- Performing more operations against the occupation forces and the Lahd agents in the Lebanese regions, especially when the enemy might breach "the April Agreement" (which primarily stated that civilians could not be harmed)
2- Making use of the national embracement of the Resistance to form a daring stance on the Zionist aggressions, especially when the developed "Israeli" military failed at achieving its aims
3- Maintaining the resistant community that significantly participated in supporting the fighters and enduring the consequences of the Resistance's struggle; also reconstructing the buildings the Zionists had demolished

Actually, the Resistance's popularity allowed it to overcome these challenges.
This month, the Islamic Resistance performed 21 operations, and no other side performed any military operations. In spite of the low number of operations, their outcomes have been unique.
The enemy acknowledged the death of 4 "Israeli" soldiers and 3 Lahd militiamen, in addition to the injury of 19 "Israeli" soldiers and 3 Lahd militiamen.

Not only did the Resistance conquer the enemy and put an end to Zionist aggression against Lebanon in April, but also the Resistance foiled the enemy's espionages, exposing the intelligence nets and deactivating them, particularly during "the April Aggression".

In fact, these nets' mission was watching centers, houses, vehicles, and individuals. The mission also included continuously sending information to the "Israeli" intelligence or placing the information on aerial maps so that the enemy would strike later.
Another mission was watching the regions shelled. The activity of these nets was concentrated in Beirut Southern Suburb and the South.

The Islamic Resistance announced news of exposing these nets in May, pointing out that the fighters had been ultimately aware since the first day of "the April Aggression".
The Resistance also said the fighters had busted agents, foiling, therefore, the Zionist scheme and preventing the enemy from achieving any direct aim throughout "the April Aggression".
Besides, the Resistance sources pointed out that a Lahd agent was busted while calling Zionist officers.
The agent had provided them with information on a vehicle that was bombed near Jiyeh in the beginning of the Aggression. Though the agent said the vehicle was military, it turned out to be a civil car, and a female driver was martyred.
The Resistance as well caught other agents red-handed.

The agents would gather information on centers and houses of Hizbullah members and on Imam ar-Rida Mosque in Bir el-Abed (in Beirut Southern Suburb), the number of people praying there, and the movement of individuals in the mosque's surroundings.
The agents would place the numbers of houses or centers on special aerial maps to send them to the enemy afterwards.

On the military level, the fighters sustained their heroic operations against the occupation. The Resistance performed a unique operation against a Zionist motorcade patrolling on Sojod-ar-Rihan Route in spite of the security procedures the occupation had made.
While performing this operation, the Resistance abided by the standards of "the April Agreement", as the Resistance usually does.

Islamic Resistance Performs Operation Series on Kroom al-Arz-Jezzine Route, May 10, 1996

On May 10, 1996, the fighters performed an operation series on Kroom al-Arz-Jezzine Route, bombing an explosive while a Lahd infantry was patrolling.
The fighters killed an infantryman and destroyed a "Tao" missile launcher and a Merkava tank at Sojod Site.
On May 14, 1996, the Resistance artillerists clashed with a Zionist patrol inside the occupied region.

During this operation, fighter Fadi Hassan Melhem (from Majdal Selm) was martyred.
Also, the Islamic Resistance has announced the martyrdom of fighter Hussein Qassem (from the occupied town of Salha) while he was defending the dignity of the Lebanese people.

Islamic Resistance Ambushes on Sojod-ar-Rihan Route, Sunday, May 12, 1996

On Sunday morning, the Islamic-Resistance group of al-Mansouri-Massacre Martyrs set ambushed a patrol headed by several infantrymen on Sojod-ar-Rihan Route. As soon as the patrol reached the ambush spot, the fighters struck it with their firearms and artillery, destroying and burning a Willis jeep and killing or injuring the soldiers on it, also damaging a tank.
In the meantime, the group of Nabatiyeh-Massacre Martyrs was shelling Sojod Site.

The enemy has acknowledged the operation, pointing out that 5 soldiers were wounded, a major among whom was in a critical case.
Afterwards, the enemy acknowledged that 4 infantrymen of the Golani Brigade (an "Israeli" infantry brigade of five battalions) were wounded as the Resistance shelled the enemy sites.

Islamic Resistance Attacks Patrol near Shkief Fort, May 19, 1996

On May 19, 1996, the Islamic Resistance performed another unique operation, whereby the group of Qana Martyrs attacked a Zionist "Israeli" patrol near Shkief Fort, causing its members grave casualties.
The enemy acknowledged the operation, claiming that only one soldier suffered a severe injury and was transported to Ram Bam Hospital in Haifa.
Some security sources said the operation was stunning, especially when it targeted Shkief Fort, one of the most fortified sites.

The Islamic Resistance has announced the martyrdom of two fighters taking part in performing this operation: Abbass Ali Yasseen (from Kfar Tibnit Town) and Osama Muhammad Hakim (from Shakra Town).

Islamic-Resistance Operation Strikes Enemy, May 30, 1996

The Islamic Resistance again stunned the enemy, performing a double operation on May 30, 1996. The fighters bombed two explosives, the first of which was bombed as an "Israeli" intelligence motorcade left Marjeeyoun Barracks. The explosion killed and wounded many of the motorcade officers.
A few minutes later, reinforcements of the occupation military reached the operation zone. Right then, the fighters blasted another bomb, killing or wounding more Zionists.

Upon the statement of enemy sources, the French Press Agency (AFP) reported primary information on the injury of ten Zionists, one of which was in a critical condition.
The security sources of the occupation afterwards acknowledged that two Zionist soldiers were killed and eight others were wounded, some of whom suffered severe wounds.
Amid strict security procedures, the "Israeli" military helicopters transported the casualties into Ram Bam Hospital in Haifa.

Not only does the importance of the operation lie in its outcomes and significance, but also its importance lies in the fact that it was performed only one kilometer away from Agent Provocateur Lahd's house.
This successful operation has, in fact, come after a series of coups the Islamic Resistance delivered to the enemy and agents. The fighters encountered a Zionist motorcade sneaking towards Sahl Akmata (Literally: "Akmata Plain") from Kassaret el-Oroush Site.
Clashing with the patrol members, the fighters prevented them from achieving their aggressive aims.

Later on, the enemy sources started revealing the enemy's casualties, acknowledging the death of four soldiers and the injury of seven others, among who was a colonel in a critical case.
The deceased Zionists were: Lieutenant Colonel Yuram Nahari (32 years old), Captain Moshe Haros (23 years old), Captain Yitzhak Mizrahi (21 years old), and First Sergeant Yitzhak Shapir (24 years old).

The enemy's channel declared that Lieutenant Colonel David Duhen was wounded severely in the Islamic-Resistance operation. After having a complicated surgery, he was moved into the intensive-care unit of Ram Bam Hospital in Haifa.
The Islamic Resistance showed a video tape on the operation incidents: On the floor were more than five occupation officers near each other: Two or three were screaming and twisting over in pain. The others were motionless.

Islamic Resistance Blasts Lahd Patrol, May 29, 1996

Striking the Lahd Militia, the Islamic Resistance bombed an explosive while a Lahd patrol was on Deir Syriane-Alman Route on May 29, 1996. As a result, each of the patrollers was killed or injured.
Some Zionist military sources acknowledged that two Lahd militiamen were killed in the blast of an explosive bomb.

As for the agents' sources, they mentioned that the deceased militiamen were Jamal Ahmad Dakik (from Markaba) and Suleiman Muhammad Qashmar (from at-Taybeh).
The operation zone was inspected by Chief of "the Northern Command" Amiram Levin.

2- Fadi Hassan Melhem; martyred on May 14, 1996
3- Abbass Ali Hassan; martyred on May 19, 1996
