In this context, "Israeli" Police spokeswoman Luba Samri announced that "as of midnight, police at "Ben Gurion" airport ...had detained 78 people, more than two-thirds of them French nationals."
"Among those detained were 51 French nationals, 11 Britons, six Italians, five Canadians, two Spanish nationals and three others from Switzerland, Portugal and the United States," she stated.

The "Israeli" move was aided by European airlines, many of which cancelled tickets of those planning to travel to Occupied Palestine at "Israel's" request.
Many airlines blocked activists at their departure points after they were issued with "no-fly" lists by "Israel". British budget carriers easyJet and Jet2.com prevented activists taking planes from London and Manchester.

Similarly, the Swiss police also prevented about a hundred pro-Palestinian activists from flying to "Tel Aviv".
In Turkey, organizers of the "Welcome to Palestine" movement have stated that Turkish authorities have prevented pro-Palestinian activists from boarding flights to "Israel".

According to news agencies, "Israel" threatened air companies with fines if they did not deny seats to activists worldwide, even though the group has been invited by dozens of Palestinian organizations and officials.
In parallel, angry demonstrations were staged in several European capitals after at least 300 passenger tickets were cancelled.
Scores of activists protested at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, where airport sources said 90 passengers had been prevented from boarding Lufthansa and Swiss Air flights for Tel Aviv.

In Brussels, demonstrations erupted after at least 120 activists were denied the chance to visit Palestine thanks to an airline blacklist.
