Sayyed Nasrallah on Arbaeen: Resistance to Remain Our Choice

On the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah appeared via video-link during Hizbullah's festival in Baalbeck, delivering a speech in which he consoled the Islamic world on the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, reassured the strength of the resistance, and tackled the latest political developments.

Paying Allegiance

Hizbullah Secretary General addressed the tens of thousands who poured into the city of Baalbeck despite the cold weather, to which many came on foot in order to take part in the procession commemorating Imam Hussein's Arbaeen.

Sayyed Nasrallah said that the participants expressed the renewal of their pledge to Imam Hussein and to the seal of Prophets Mohammad (pbuh). He emphasized the importance of Baalbeck, the location chosen to hold the ceremony in grief and pride of the "school" of Karbala, as this city was the place where the heads of Imam Hussien and his companions were placed, and the place on which Sayyeda Zeinab a.s. and the captives stepped foot.

Sayyed Nasrallah paid allegiance to Prophet Mohammad's household, assuring "we will follow your lead our dear beloved [Prophet Household], until either attaining victory or martyrdom."

"I salute you [participants] all for your great and honorable participation in this ceremony despite the cold weather. We say to Hussein and those who were killed with him, you are alive in our hearts, you are our blood, our heartbeats and our dignity." he expressed.

Sayyed Nasrallah recalled that "Imam Hussein whose hands were chained, and was surrounded with his family when he was threatened, refused humiliation".

"We also say that it is impossible to humiliate us," Hizbullah SG declared, highlighting that "amid the ongoing "Israeli" and US threats and intimidation, we wonder how can you threaten us with death, we the sons of Hussein have faced you with this spirit since 1982."
As for those plotting against the Ummah (nation) and its people, wealth and resistance, Sayyed Nasrallah declared "We tell those that our masses fill the places and our men fill the fronts."

The Square of Resistance

Hizbullah SG pointed out that this square, the square of Baalbeck has witnessed the beginning of the Islamic resistance in Lebanon, also it witnessed the first military parade that took place on the first commemoration of al-Quds day, and it was the square that embraced the bodies of the martyrs, and resistance fighters.
"We decisively confirm from this square that we insist to adopt and adhere the choice and discipline of resistance," Sayyed Nasrallah went on to say, adding "because this choice, this path, these arms along with the army and the people guarantee Lebanon's security, sovereignty and independence."

Ki-Moon: Happy for You, No Substitute for Resistance

Sayyed Nasrallah tackled the latest political developments, particularly the stance of the UN Secretary General ban Ki-Moon on disarming Hizbullah.

The UN chief had said in a press conference on Friday "I am deeply concerned about the military capacity of Hizbullah and also concerned about the lack of progress in disarmament."

Ban arrived in Beirut on Friday for talks with Lebanese leaders on the controversial U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Syrian Unrest and Hezbollah's arms.
On this note, Sayyed Nasrallah stated "We tell UN Chief Ban Ki-Moon we are happy for you, the US and "Israel" are concerned and worried that we have weapons. Our concern is that all our people in Lebanon know that there is a resistance that will remain to defend its land and peoples."

His Eminence further reassured "I tell Ban and the world that this resistance will remain, and only grow stronger."

Sayyed Nasrallah questioned the performance of the Arab League, the European Union, the US and the UN for long decades. "The result is that Palestine is still occupied, ten thousand Palestinians remain in "Israeli" prisons, millions of Palestinians displaced and refugees and the Holy city of al-Quds is desecrated by Zionists," he answered.

Hizbullah leader said that the resistance in Lebanon, Gaza, and Iraq has achieved liberation, and reassured that these cannot be replaced or substituted.

Dialogue to Disarm Resistance!

As for the National dialogue in Lebanon, which many claim that Hizbullah rejects, Sayyed Nasrallah said "We call for dialogue and we are ready for it. I have never said that I refuse dialogue, but there are some people who want to disarm the resistance through dialogue, and I tell them their goal will never be achieved."

However, Sayyed Nasrallah announced, "We welcome every dialogue that aims at setting a strategic defense.

Fate of Imam Moussa

Sayyed Nasrallah also stopped to remember the fate of missing Imam Moussa al-Sadr and his companions. He thanked the Libyan officials for dealing with the Imam's fate seriously, noting "We support the government's efforts to reveal the truth behind his disappearance."

Keen on Civil Peace, Stability

Tackling the security level in Lebanon, Hizbullah Secretary General confirmed the resistance's keenness on civil peace.
"We are keen that no disagreement regarding any local or regional issue leads to any kind of instability, we are also keen on stability, preventing thefts and crimes, but it is the responsibility of the state and army to prevent them and it is not that of the resistance."

On the governmental level, Sayyed Nasrallah said "We are keen on the government and call on its Prime Minister and Ministers to deal with the livelihood issues."

Lebanon Cannot be Isolated from Events in Syria

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Lebanon cannot be isolated from the events in Syria, adding "We are the country influenced the most by the events in Syria."

Out of concern and care to Syria, its people and leadership, Sayyed Nasrallah called on the Syrian opposition outside and inside Syria to respond to Bashar al-Assad's call for dialogue. He went on to say "We also call for recovering peace and stability and relinquishing arms for stability to prevail again in Syria.
His Eminence added that the behavior and incitement of foreign countries is not useful, addressing these governments "If you are really keen on Syria, you should all convene to resolve the crisis in Syria instead of inciting strife and worsening the crisis.

Condemns Blasts in Iraq, Iranian Scientist Assassination

Hizbullah Secretary General Sayyed Nasrallah strictly condemned the blasts that targeted Iraq which left hundreds dead and injured. "I call on the scholars of the nation to condemn the suicide attacks and explosions that target civilians in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Nigeria."
On another note, Sayyed Nasrallah condemned the killing of the nuclear scientists in Iran, emphasizing that Iran will not stop its technological development.

"They want us to be [preoccupied with entertainment], they do not want us to be nations that produce and export science, which would be a reason of strength," he further explained.

Addressing Bahrain, Sayyed Nasrallah called on the regime to meet the people's demands and launch serious dialogue with the opposition.

As for Palestine, His Eminence noted "We cannot forget Palestine, whose enemies do not want its factions to reconcile. The only option for the people of Palestine is Resistance."

Ending his speech, Hizbullah SG Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said "Our way to dignity, prosperity, security, is achieved by clinging to the option of resistance."
