The Bahraini Opposition Overseas called on the people of Bahrain, the Arab and Islamic Nations, and the free people of the world to conduct "a demonstration in protest of the demolition of mosques and burning copies of the Holy Quran in Bahrain" on Friday the 22nd of April 2011.

The opposition called for holding the demonstrations under the title "Our Mosques...Our Souls", and called on the Imams and preachers of mosques to raise their voice to protect the mosques.
The opposition further held the men of Bahraini authority as well as the Saudi and Bahraini armies responsible for the repercussions of this heinous crime. It further called on the scholars and the free peoples to also condemn such aggressions on mosques and religious sanctities.
In addition, the opposition demanded the "Organization of Islamic Conference" (OIC) to take on its responsibilities in face of such violation to worship places.

Earlier, the Bahraini opposition reported the crimes of the Bahraini, Saudi, and Emirati armies, as they cooperated to demolish 15 mosques, some of which are older than a hundred years.
The Opposition also reiterated that "demolishing and sabotaging the mosques as well as burning copies of the Holy Quran and preventing the people from praying and practicing their rituals only represents the aggressive and antagonist spirit of the authority and its supporters.

On the same note, the opposition stated that such act comes in conformity with "the aggressive practices against Islam, whether demolishing mosques or burning Holy Quran copies, just like the case is in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and lately in the United States.
