As-Safir Lebanese daily discussed one of the possible scenarios, which was discussed on Tuesday night after the S-S efforts arrived to a deadlock. According to the paper, the Opposition is likely to announce the resignation of its Cabinet ministers from Rabieh later this afternoon if a demand to convene a ministerial council meeting to take a decision on the international tribunal is not met, at the same time PM Saad Hariri would be meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama in Washington.

The Lebanese daily came to know that another meeting took place on Tuesday night in the residence of MP Ali Hassan Khalil, which included a number of opposition leaders during which the final touches were put on how to deal with the phase following the withdrawal, and the constitutional steps required.

On its part, well-informed sources in the opposition told As-Safir "It is impossible that we stay in one government along with those who support a tribunal conspiring against the resistance. We will not allow that Saad Hariri to be our Prime Minister if he insists on his choice."

The sources further indicated that the demand to convene a ministerial session is a last chance that allows the Lebanese to take responsibility after the US foiled the Arab initiative. It further added that it is required to put a clear vision and take a decisive decision to safeguard the country from an American-"Israeli" scheme against the resistance as well as stability. This scheme is realized through politicizing the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) and its indictment.

Also, the sources revealed that case has become broader than just an issue related to the false witnesses or even the STL, it is rather related to protecting the country.
