In an interview with American television Monday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stressed that "Israel" must apologize for the siege its forcing on the Gaza Strip. Erdogan also added that if "Israel" apologized, it would be a condition to consume the Turkish mediation in any peace talks between "Israel" and Syria.

Erdogan said, "Israel should issue an apology because of what has happened with the more recent events and compensate for the people and Gaza, which is like an open-air prison, must not remain so, and the blockades must be lifted. As long as these happen, this takes place, then we are ready for any sort of responsibility that we are asked to take upon ourselves".

Regarding the recent brutal attack on Freedom Flotilla, Erdogan said in the interview, ""Israel" attacked from the sea and from the air and there were plastic bullets used, guns used", further referred that 9 Turkish activists die, including a Turkish-American activist.

Erdogan thus said that the US administration should take ownership of the situation, because of the presence of the American citizen.

The Turkish Prime Minister hardly slammed "Israel" for its forced siege on the Gaza Strip, demanding an apology for all its crimes and violations committed.

The "Israeli" Turkish relations have been witnessed a fall back since the "Israeli" 2008-2009 aggression on the Gaza Strip, resulting the death of 1,400 Palestinian civilians.

The tension between both sides increased after the intended "Israeli" attack on the Freedom Flotilla aid convoy to Gaza in May 31 in international waters. The attack caused the death of nine Turkish activists, including one who has a US citizenship.
