In a blatant aggression, the Saudi warplanes have carried out airstrikes against the Yemeni capital Sana'a, targeting a crowded funeral ceremony which led to the martyrdom of more than 130.
According to reports, the Saudi jets conducted at least nine airstrikes on Khamis street in southern Sana'a. The building where the event was underway was seriously damaged in the attacks.
The funeral was for the father of a senior Yemeni official.
Yemen's al-Masirah television said hospitals in the capital were desperately in need of blood donations.
Media reports revealed that at least 130 people have been martyred and more than 300 injured. Senior intelligence and military officials were present, and Sanaa's mayor Abdul-Qader Hilal was confirmed martyred.
Security sources were quoted as saying that the Saudi-led coalition air strikes occurred as the funeral reception was under way for the father of Brigadier Jalal al-Ruweishan, the Yemeni interior minister.
A missile tore through the hall of the building, leaving many dead and injured, Reuters reported, citing eyewitnesses. According to the news agency, a medic said that he saw "mutilated and charred bodies".
