The Daesh [Arabic acronym for "ISIS" / "ISIL"] Takfiri group had reportedly released a new video on Sunday [8 January], which showed three child soldiers - including a four-year-old - brutally killing three young men in Syria's northeastern Deir ez-Zor city.

The victims, who were accused of spying for the Kurdish YPG forces, were executed at the hands of Daesh child soldiers - known as "Cubs of the Caliphate".

The Daesh media office of Deir ez-Zor released a propaganda video showing the three men confessing that they've been spying for the Kurdish troops against the so-called "Caliphate". Later in the video, Daesh child soldiers brutally execute the victims and shout "Allahu Akbar".

The execution took place in a deserted playground in rural Deir ez-Zor.

Abu Mouaz al-Shami, a 9-year-old member of "Cubs of the Caliphate", beheaded one of the victims with a knife after being ordered by a Daesh officer.

Khattab al-Kamishli, a 13-year-old Takfiri militants, beheaded another man in the same video. Speaking in front of the camera, Khattab said that his brother was killed by the Kurdish troops and "beheading this spy" was his revenge.

Yet the most shocking scene in the video was that of a 4-year-old boy shooting a man in the head and then shouting "Allahu Akbar".

Director of the ‘Deir ez-Zor 24' activist network Omar Abu Laila told ARA News: "Obviously those children have been brainwashed by ‘ISIS' radicals."

"‘ISIS' has been kidnapping children and forcing them to join ‘jihadist' training camps in Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor and Mosul. They've been forced into committing such atrocities on behalf of the ‘ISIS' self-proclaimed Caliphate," Abu Laila said.

The so-called "Cubs of the Caliphate" is a unit for child soldiers who fight in the ranks of Daesh. It has branches in every city controlled by Daesh in Iraq and Syria.

Children recruited by Daesh receive a Sharia course and a military training within a period of three months.
Afterwards, the trained boys are spread across the Daesh-occupied territory in the region with different Takfiri assignments.

Although parents of recently recruited children protested against such practices by Daesh, the Takfiri group continued to force young boys to join the "Cubs of the Caliphate" under the pretext of serving what the group defines as "Islamic Sharia".
