Hizbullah Condemns the Retaliatory Political Sentence against Sheikh Salman

Hizbullah issued a statement condemning the political ruling by the Bahraini authorities against the Secretary-General of the Bahraini al-Wefaq his Eminence Sheikh Ali Salman, who was sentenced to four years imprisonment on charges of fabricated allegations.

Hizbullah considers this verdict reveals the partition between the ruling authority in Bahrain and its people as it is distancing itself from reality and the hopes and aspirations of its people, while it embroils in maintaining its domination and exclusivity in power making use of repression, arbitrary judgments and intimidation.

Furthermore, Hizbullah pointed out that this provision has nothing to do with the judiciary, law and justice; it is but a retaliatory judgment which expresses the anger of the authorities concerning the Bahraini commitment to peaceful conscious and controlled movement in order to achieve their legitimate demands of a true national partnership and a just verdict which represents the public and their desire to lead a free and decent life.

Hereafter, Hizbullah called on Arab and international legal and civil institutions to make all possible efforts to pressure the repressive regime in Bahrain, act towards the immediate release of Sheikh Ali Salman, and support the peaceful popular movement which is an upscale example of persistence upon its just demands.
